This is one amazing place. The country is fascinating, the people are lovely. The Himalayas are Incredible.
We had one week and loved every second. We did a 3-day trek, and would love to go back for a 3-wk trek. It was amazing how many people we met who were completing 11-day and 3-wk treks around the Anapurnas. We even ran into a group of grandmas (late 60's early 70's) who were on the last day of their 11-day trek in the mountains. Not bad! Anyone can do it, but it helps to be in good shape and be sure to have good hiking boots or hiking shoes (depending on how long and high your trek)
I highly recommend at least one day in Kathmandu (gotta do it) and then head out to one of the ranges for a trek. You haven't seen Nepal unless you've trekked the Himalayas. The Annapurnas (beautiful), Langtang, and Chitwan, and of course there is Mount Everest for the more serious (and deep pocketed) mountaineers.
